Responding to the RIBA Rethink-2025 Competition brief to imagine how Architecture and Urbanism might change in the wake of the Covid 19 Pandemic Khan Bonshek proposed radical changes to our neigbourhoods focussing upon air pollution and access to green space - a particular issue for disadvantaged areas and minority ethnic groups.

Through radically cutting road traffic on domestic streets and changing cultural attitudes to driving, the proposal envisaged greening local roads and giving road space back to residents.

The entry won a special commendation.

‘It was one of only two longlisted proposals that mentioned BAME issues around Covid-19 and it was the only one that attempted to do anything about it.’
Asif Khan (RIBA Judge)
